Fees & Terms and Conditions

Membership Fees

Programme Structure:

The Stages Theatre Arts year is divided into two semesters:

  • September to February
  • February to July

Each semester concludes with a staged performance or production, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their progress and skills.

STA operates a membership-based fee structure, which includes tuition and participation in term time weekly sessions.

Fees are payable in advance by Direct Debit in equal monthly instalments over 11 months of the year. No payments are taken in August.

Fees are calculated based on annual provision and are therefore not reduced for non-attendance. In exceptional circumstances, this may be reviewed at STA’s discretion.

Current Fees:

Summer School (7 to 18 years)

6 days (Monday to Saturday) including an end of week staged production.

6.5 hours a day

£200 for the week.

£60.00 per calendar month

Encore! (55+)

Membership fees are reviewed at the start of each academic year.

Stages Theatre Arts (STA) Terms and Conditions of Membership

This agreement sets out the terms and conditions governing the relationship between STAGES THEATRE ARTS (“STA”, “we”, “us”) and you, the Parent or Guardian (“you”).

By enrolling your child in STA classes, workshops, or events, you agree to be bound by these terms. These conditions are in place to maintain high standards and ensure all members benefit fully from their experience.

1. Membership and Fees

  • Membership entitles one named child to attend STA sessions. Each child must hold an individual membership.
  • The minimum membership period is two months. If a student is cast in a production during their membership, the minimum term will extend until the end of that production period.
  • Membership will automatically continue after the minimum term unless cancelled by either party with at least two months’ written notice. Notice will take effect from the next payment due date.
  • Fees are payable monthly in advance on the 1st of each month via Direct Debit through our payment provider.
  • If payment is not received in full, STA reserves the right to suspend or cancel membership and exclude the student from sessions until payment is resolved.
  • If your account falls into arrears more than four times within any calendar year, STA reserves the right to cancel membership.
  • STA may review and adjust fees from time to time. At least one month’s written notice will be provided for any changes.

2. Delivery of Sessions

  • Fees cover a combination of tuition and membership services.
  • STA reserves the right to deliver sessions online where circumstances outside our control require it (including but not limited to weather, public health restrictions, or venue issues).
  • Full fees apply where sessions are delivered either in person or through a hybrid of in-person and live online classes.
  • If sessions are delivered exclusively online for 10 or more consecutive weeks, a reduced fee will apply.
  • STA reserves the right to change the day, time, or location of sessions. If such changes make attendance impractical, you may cancel your membership without serving the standard notice period.

3. Attendance and Absence

  • No refunds or make-up sessions are provided for missed classes due to illness, holidays, or personal choice. In exceptional circumstances, this may be reviewed at STA’s discretion.
  • If your child is unable to attend a session, you must inform STA in advance where possible.
  • In cases where a child is medically unable to continue, membership may be cancelled without further obligation upon provision of appropriate evidence.

4. Conduct and Behaviour

  • All students are expected to follow the STA Student Code of Conduct, available from the Principal.
  • STA reserves the right to suspend or exclude any student whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or detrimental to others. This will be handled in accordance with our behaviour policy and may include warnings where appropriate.
  • A teacher may ask a student to leave a session if necessary. In serious cases, parents/guardians will be contacted to collect their child.
  • Parents and students must treat all staff and members with respect. Offensive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Students must arrive on time and be collected promptly at the end of sessions.

5. Health and Safety

  • Participation in STA activities is at the student’s own risk. You must inform STA of any medical conditions, injuries, or additional needs.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that all emergency contact and medical information is kept up to date.
  • Any medication brought to sessions must be clearly labelled and, unless otherwise agreed in writing, self-administered.
  • Students must wear appropriate clothing and footwear as specified by STA.
  • Smoking, vaping, alcohol, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited at all STA sessions.

6. Liability

  • Nothing in this agreement limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
  • Subject to the above, STA’s total liability shall be limited to the total amount of fees paid by you.
  • STA is not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings.
  • STA’s responsibility for students applies only during scheduled session times.

7. Cancellation and Termination

  • A minimum of two months’ written notice is required to cancel membership, unless otherwise stated in these terms.
  • If a student has committed to a production, they are expected to remain enrolled until the end of that production period.
  • Either party may terminate this agreement immediately if the other is in serious breach of its obligations.

8. Complaints

  • Any complaints or concerns should be directed to the Company Director in the first instance. We will aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly.

9. Changes to Terms

  • STA reserves the right to make reasonable changes to these terms and conditions.
  • Where changes are significant, we will provide at least one month’s written notice.

10. General

  • If any provision of this agreement is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
  • This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

By enrolling your child in STA, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
