What is Footlights?
Welcome to Footlights — Stages Theatre Arts’ joyful, high-energy class for 4–8 year olds, where little performers take their first steps into the world of theatre in a way that feels safe, exciting, and full of fun.
This weekly 90 minute session is a playful mix of singing, dancing, acting, sprinkled with storytelling, role-play, games and creative exploration in the wider theatre arts. We use imagination-led activities to help children build confidence naturally — finding their voice, learning to take turns, and discovering the thrill of performing (even if it’s just a tiny moment at first!).

Footlights is about much more than learning routines. It’s about helping children grow into happy, confident individuals — developing social skills, communication, listening, focus and resilience, all while making friends and having an absolute blast.
As children progress, they’ll begin working towards their first performance opportunities, giving them a chance to shine and share what they’ve learned with family and friends in a supportive, celebratory environment. Whether your child loves being the star of the show or prefers to start quietly at the side, Footlights nurtures every personality and helps them thrive at their own pace.
