Enrol Your child: Main Stage

Stages Theatre Arts: Main Stage (Ages 9 to 13)

What is Main Stage?

Main Stage is where young performers step up, level up, and start creating work they’re genuinely proud of. Designed for 9–13 year olds, this weekly two and a half hour session is a high-energy, high-quality training class that builds strong foundations in acting, singing and dance/movement as well as exploration of the wider theatre arts — with the confidence, creativity and team spirit to match.

Our sessions are led by trained practitioners, qualified teachers and industry professionals who bring a hands-on, performer-led approach to every week.

Young people don’t just “take part” — they learn by doing: exploring characters, building technique, trying new styles, and discovering what they’re capable of in a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to be themselves.

Train like a company. Perform like a pro.

Whether your child is passionate about musical theatre, drama and acting, dance and stage movement, comedy or the wider theatre arts, Main Stage gives them space to explore, stretch, and grow — while learning the discipline and excitement of working as part of a training theatre company.

And the best part - Main Stage are always working towards a performance or production, giving students a real goal to aim for and a brilliant opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned for family, friends, and the local community.

From first rehearsal to final bow, they’ll experience the buzz of creating something together — and the pride that comes with stepping on stage as a team.

Main Stage helps young performers develop:

  • Performance technique in acting, voice and movement
  • Confidence, presence and communication
  • Teamwork, leadership and social skills
  • Focus, resilience and stage discipline
  • Creativity, imagination and storytelling.

Main Stage at Stages Theatre Arts:

We open curtains to exciting training, real performance outcomes, and an inclusive community that helps young people shine — on stage and beyond.
