Uniform/Dress Code:

Our uniform policy

At Stages Theatre Arts, we aim to create a professional yet welcoming environment where every student can feel confident, comfortable, and ready to perform.

Our simple uniform guidelines help maintain a sense of a real theatre company, teamwork and ensures that company members can move freely and safely during all classes and activities.

Class wear

Students should attend sessions wearing comfortable clothing suitable for movement.

Our recommended class wear includes:

  • An Official Stages Theatre Arts logo T-shirt (short/long sleeved/vest top) or a plain black T-shirt.
  • An Official Stages Theatre Arts hoodie/sweater or a plain black hoodie/sweater to keep warm between activities and/or during colder months.
  • Plain black tracksuit bottoms, leggings, jazz pants, or sports shorts.
  • Plain black socks.
  • Black trainers or jazz shoes (full or split sole).

Official Stages Theatre Arts Logo'd merchandise can be purchased through the links below.  Our official garments are made from 100% certified organic cotton. Great for sensitive skin and made without the use of nasty chemicals.  All garments are made sustainably by Teemill and feature a QR code on the care label to send it back for recycling when it's worn out.

Throughout the year, students will also explore the wider world of theatre arts, including costume and set design, prop and puppet making, and painting scenery. During these planned in advance sessions, we will ask students to wear older clothing suitable for these types of creative activities.

For Holiday Workshops, such as Summer School and Half Term  Workshop Days, students should wear loose comfortable clothing suitable for movement and arts based activities including painting.

What to bring

To help students stay hydrated and energised during sessions, please bring:

  • A named bottle of water.
  • A small snack for break time/a packed lunch for holiday workshop days.

Please note that Stages Theatre Arts is a nut and nut-product-free environment.

Labelling items

We kindly ask that all clothing, shoes, and personal belongings are clearly named to help prevent items from being misplaced.

Our uniform policy is simple and designed to keep things easy,

practical, and inclusive, allowing students to focus on what matters most — learning, creating, and enjoying the magic of theatre arts.
